About the event
"There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in" (Leonard Cohen, 'Anthem')
What if, instead of carrying our relational cracks around, you could heal them with warmth, empathy and the ability to be heard?
This workshop is for you if you:
- experience some tension, judgment or a feeling of stuckness in a relationship (regardless of whether this person is still present in your life or not);
- feel like you're carrying some discomfort, grudge or pain from a past relationship or conversation that you can't "shake off";
- want to experience relief or self-compassion around some hurt in relationship (whether you caused it or you received it);
- want to prepare for a difficult conversation with someone, where one or both of you have experienced hurt;
- are in conflict with someone and would like to be heard about what is challenging for you;
- would like to be received fully in a safe and warm presence of others.
Together we will walk through the steps and each participant will have an opportunity to experience a healing conversation during the day. Some of them might last longer, some might be short.
During the workshop we will walk towards opening our hearts to the fullness of humanity - with all its joys, hurts and sorrows. We will practice looking beyond blame, judgment and guilt and towards being able to support ourselves and others towards self-connection.
You will be gently guided to:
- access more freedom in the relationship;
- move away from judgments, opinions, blame and guilt, and towards more compassion;
- receive compassion for yourself and all the hurt you experienced in the relationship;
- express yourself fully and be heard;
- notice how you want to move forward.
This workshop is based on "Healing and reconciliation" process (NVC), and is applicable for any relationship - whether the person is alive or not, whether you are still in relationship with them or not. It does not require participantion of the other person, and you will not need to communicate with them afterwards (unless you choose to).
Where: Wellington CBD, you will receive details of the venue once you register
When: August 3rd, 9:30-18:00
What is included: Workshop & support of two facilitators during the process, all notes & materials. The event is fully catered.
We are inviting those with a basic understanding of NVC/feelings and needs - if you are unsure, please get in touch with us.
